You are arriving in Malawi through Kamuzu International Airport in Lilongwe, the capital city of Malawi. You are met by our dedicated staff and you are taken to your hotel at Sunbird Capital or similar other facilities in the city. You will have your first Malawi Traditional Dinner at Kumbali Village and be entertained to local music and traditional dances. You will retire to bed on bed and breakfast baisis.
You depart early in the morning after breakfast and head to the rock art paintings in Chongoni Mountains. These paintings are ancient and were done over 2000 years ago. You visit one site. You will proceed to Dedza Pottery where you visit a pottery centre that makes unique pottery art from clay soils. Small but with an international market, it provides you with an opportunity to see, observe and take part in the pottery activities. You head down the Golomoti Escarpment with fantastic views of Lake Malawi from a distance. You visit KuNgoni Centre of Art and Craft. At this centre you will view and experience another type of African Art, wood carvings. Local communities do carvings using dead wood from the forest. You will visit the showroom where these are displayed. You will also visit the museum, perhaps the best cultural museum in the country. Here, Chewa, Ngoni and Yao Tribes are showcased in detail. These are some of the largest tribes in Malawi. You will proceed all the way to the beaches of Lake Malawi at Sunbird Nkopola Lodge for your night on bed and breakfast.
On this day you will be let to relax on the beach, walk the beach or just rest around the lodge. So many activities you can undertake, you may choose to swim, kayak or just walk along the beach. You will have your lunch at Sunbird. In the afternoon you will depart for Cape Maclear on the other side of the lake. At Cape Maclear you will take a boat to tour the islands, feed the eagles and play with Cichlids Fish, a beautiful fish mostly found in Lake Malawi. You will return to Sunbird Nkopola for your night on bed and breakfast only.
On this day you will depart after breakfast exploring and visiting Mangochi Town, going to see where the lake ends and changes into the river and drive on to Liwonde National Park. Liwonde National Park is the most stocked park in Malawi. It has lots of large mammals such as elephants, buffaloes, hippos and countless crocodiles. You will get to Mvuu Camp right in the park in time for your afternoon/evening game activity. You will overnight at Mvuu Camp on full board.
You will start this day with a good breakfast before going on a game activity at 07hrs till about 11hrs. You will have your lunch in the park and thereafter depart for Mulanje Mountain. Mulanje Mountain is the tallest in this part of Southern Africa at 3002 metres high. It has fantastic and beautiful plateaus and peaks. You will travel and drive by the mountain, overnight at Kara Omura on the foot of the mountain.
You will tour the mountain area, visiting tea plantations around the mountain and paying a visit to a tea factory where you will observe tea being processed. You may get a chance to taste the tea. You will also have an opportunity to visit tea picking workers in the tea plantation. You will proceed after the tours and get into the city of Blantyre at Sunbird Mount Soche on bed and breakfast.
This is a long day for you. You are leaving Malawi going to Zambia. Your destination is South Luangwa National Park. One of the top most in Africa, South Luangwa is a must see park for all around the globe. You will have your breakfast early and depart for South Luangwa via Lilongwe, the capital of Malawi. You will have your lunch and rest breaks on the way. You will do your border/immigration formalities at Mchinj(Malawi) and Mwami(Zambia) border posts. You will proceed all the way to South Luangwa at Marula lodge or similar other lodges at the park.
Your routine starts at 05.30am with a wake up call by the minders. You are ready for coffee or tea and you are in your game drive vehicle by 06hrs for a 4hr game drive. You are back by 11hrs. You rest and have your lunch. You have time to swim in the pool, red your book or just relax. You will have your afternoon tea/coffee by 15.30hrs. You are back into the game drive vehicle by 16hrs for another 4hrs of afternoon/evening drive to see some nocturnal life. You are back by 19.30hrs in time for your dinner.

This is another long day. You depart Marula Lodge by 05hrs on a long drive to Lusaka, the Capital City of Zambia. You will have your rest and lunch breaks on the way. You will get to Lusaka late afternoon to early evening. You will spend your night at Pioneer Lodge in the outskirts of Lusaka or PROTEA HOTEL Arcades in the centre of town on bed and breakfast.
You will depart after breakfast heading to Victoria Falls. You will enjoy the landscape of Zambia, stopping at Kafue River to have a view of this fantastic river. You will proceed and have your lunch break at Choma. After your lunch you will visit the museum at Choma, a place where you learn about the district, province and some important history of Zambia. You will proceed and arrive in Livingstone town just by Victoria Falls in late afternoon. Victoria Falls is a tourism hub in Southern Africa. It is one of the 7 natural wonders of the world. The falls span 1,700 metres across. Of these, 1500 metres are in Zambia and 200 metres are in Zimbabwe. The falls are over 100 metres high. You will check in at either PROTEA HOTEL Livingstone or similar other facilities.
At the Victoria Falls: You will start your Victoria Falls at 08.30am with a visit to the information office, thereafter to the flood plains, Knife Edge Bridge, to the islands, to the hsitorial bridge and many other features of the falls. You are back to your hotel by 12 noon for your lunch. A small rest, then you are on the road again going to Mosi Otunya National Park just close to the falls for a game drive. After game drive you will go straight to the Water Front for the Sunset Cruise. This is a cruise you make on the Zambezi for a good 2hrs or more. All “self contained” your cruise has everything in it, food, beer, sofities for you to enjoy, all part of the package. You will be picked from there to your hotel by 19hrs.
This is a day you allowed to take optional activities in Victoria Falls area. The choice is yours. We will have given you a list of activities in advance. You will choose which ones you want to undertake at your extra cost. We will facilitate booking them for you, transfer you to the activities and let you enjoy them. Or you may opt for a restful day at your hotel or take a walk around Victoria Falls area. Its also your day to pack up your belongings.
Unfortunately your tour comes to an end. You pack up, have your last breakfast and head to Livingstone International Airport for your flight back home.
